"White Noon"
Hand-cut china, marble chips, Snow Quartz, Desert Roses, buffalo teeth, alligator scoots, Yoka Star Turban; 36" x 24"

"White Noon" evolved from a Yoka Star Turban, a fabulous star-shaped, marine shell found most readily off of the Phillipines.  I came across an online vendor who carried the shell, and so I purchased one.  After that, I began "building" White Noon in my head, always on the lookout for materials that would work with the shell.  A visit in March 2007 to Sedona, AZ lead to the discovery of materials indigenous of the west and, most specifically, Native American culture.  Among those materials were the buffalo teeth and alligator scoots that are found in this piece.  "White Noon" is representative of a particularly beautiful, snowy winter day in Albemarle County, Virginia in 2007.  SOLD
