"Soothing the Embers of my Soul" *
Jasper, marble, volcanic rock, aquarium gravel, china; 30" x 16"
Over the past couple of years, I’ve begun consciously incorporating natural symbols in much of my work. I might use crystals which carry specific attributes, or shapes and colors which are considered to represent specific concepts and ideals. Fire and Water are the chief elements of “Soothing the Embers of my Soul”. Fire corresponds to the triangle, the color red, energy, inspiration and passion; Water embodies the color blue and the soul. “Soothing the Embers of my Soul”, with its underground rivulets, serves as a metaphor for steamy passion.
