Wings of Butterflies, a series
Summer 2010, the butterflies in our gardens have been more abundant than I can ever remember. Maybe I just never noticed. I've sort-of taken some time off for a few months, trying to let some new dust settle in the studio and within me. The butterflies have become a sort of personal symbol, like angels. These works capture only glimpses of them, because they are always moving on to the next bit of nectar. Perpetual motion. Also, their wings seem somehow to both absorb and reflect light. I'm using an iridescent glass tile.
